Photo of 1973 Canon FTb

Photos of 1973 vintage Canon FTb with 50mm FD f/1.8 lens and pretty good case, bought for US$34.99 + $3.50 tax. It is in excellent working order, but had a small child size finger print on focusing screen and had a Ladies' name and tel. # scratched on bottom plate. I took it to Camera Max, and the technician CLA'ed everything, replaced the focusing screen with a clean one, and replaced the bottom plate. The Lady died about 6 months ago, and the technician said the plate had to be replaced so the camera would not be haunted. Everything is now perfect, even the light meter. All this cost US$55.00.

I have a lovely Fed 2 www.lomography.com.tr/magazine/168430-bare-my-beloved-fed-2 with an engraving on the top plate: "to my beloved wife for her birthday, Nov. 7, 1960" (in Russian language). I love this camera as is, with this engraving. I don't know if this lady is still alive, but this camera survives in my hands and I use it with the maximum care.

I had the FTb (then the F-1). both have automatic CAT flash. This requires the Speedlite 133 D flash unit and the appropriate lens including the flash coupler. Just like the Canon F-1 (in contrast to the Canon EF, the CAT system only led to semi-automatic control, since there was no aperture transmission from the camera to the lens.).
My old Canon F-1 still works precisely like a Swiss watch today !!! Old cameras are not only beautiful, they are also good !!!! greetings from the Highlands of the Hunsrück Ralph
