The monument is made of bronze and stone and is a portrait of a Vietnamese politician Ho Chi Minh on the background of the symbolic sun. Before the disk of the sun, a sculpture Vietnamese, who rises from his knees. On the reverse side of the solar disk are tropical flowers and two bamboo tree. The composition is mounted on a circular plate, which knocked out the words: "There is nothing more precious than independence and freedom." © Ho Chi Minh.

The monument was erected May 18, 1990 on the square named after him in 1969.
The authors of the monument are sculptor VE Tsigal and architect RG Kananin.
After the collapse of the USSR, Moscow authorities have a desire to demolish the monument, prompting protests from the Vietnamese diplomats in this scenario offered to move the monument to the territory of Vietnam Embassy in Moscow. As a result, the monument was left in the same place
