<b>Historical note</b>: The building stone of Alexander Nevsky chapel is well known, since it is almost completely preserved on the territory of dendrological park (for ul.8 March) - the former Grain Square.
The chapel was founded in 1881 and completed in 1890 to commemorate the abolition of serfdom and the emancipation of the serfs. The building it was built in the neo-Russian style, and is probably the only surviving representative of this style in church architecture of Ekaterinburg. In the niches in the wall, which are clearly visible on the sides of the entrance were fortified marble plaques: one of them was captured text Manifesto February 19, 1861 the release of the peasants from serfdom, and the other was written when, by whom and in which the memory chapel was set. The chapel belonged to the Bishops house. According to the Yekaterinburg diocese chapel closed in 1927. In Soviet times, schoolchildren and students of the many nearby schools and universities often ran into it, to light a candle before the exam. Following the closure of it was used as a lodge or storage for garden tools. Lost domes with a cross, but it emerged in the niches of the mosaic with the image of grass and flowers. Currently, she returned and handed over to the community of the Diocese of Novo-Tikhvin monastery. Restored in 1996.
