«Weeping Angel» — is part of the memorial dedicated to the Belarusian soldiers-internationalists who died in Afghanistan in the years 1979-1989. The complex is located on the «Island of Tears» on the river Svisloch in the center of Old Minsk, near the Trinity suburb. The sculpture depicts a crying little angel, who, on the idea of architects, crying because they do not cope with its mission, the soldiers did not save from death
Married Minsk considered a good tradition to lay flowers to the monument. It is believed that this ritual will protect new husband from death and injury in combat.
