Martyna Wisniewska with the Neptune Convertible Art Lens System

Music photographer Martyna Wisniewska took the Neptune Convertible Art Lens System on tour with At The Drive in and Casey. She managed to capture something soft and dreamy with these lenses.

Hello! Tell us a bit about your photography background?

Hiya! My background isn't really a background really, I went to the wrong university to study the completely wrong thing and somehow ended up shooting frames at local punk shows. Long story short, I totally fell into the music photography business and now predominately tour with artists. It's been three years since I picked up a camera and started creating. An absolute wild journey through it all, from product photography, through a college prospectus, weddings, food, cocktails, festivals, portraiture and anything music related of course. I obviously feel the most comfortable shooting bands, but not afraid to stick my fingers into other fields to experiment.

What would you call your photography style?

I've always struggled to put myself in a box, can never quite label my visual outcome, what my work might look like to others etc. I just create what feels right at heart and roll with the punches at all times. I think for me, it depends who I work with and what we're both after in terms of the final result and feeling of it all.

What was your first impression upon seeing the Convertible Art Lenses?

I was blown away how small and light everything was! It's an absolute powerhouse of a machinery that I very quickly fell in love with. Absolutely ideal for touring, the range was also very close to my heart.

What did you choose to shoot?

I shot two European and UK tours using the Neptune Convertible Art Lenses, At The Drive In and Casey. On both the tours I shot a combination of portraiture, landscape and live music. Still and motion. Stunning results all around. I had a real tough time having to send these lenses back! They deal really well in low light conditions, the colours are also SO vivid. Combined with my colour palette it's definitely given my still images a bit of a psychedelic edge over the past couple of months.

What's coming up in 2018?

For me? Tours, possibly two new photo-books and maybe some motion pictures. For the world? Probably the impeding doom if we don't start caring about our planet. Recycle.
