Share to us your most memorable experience in the Lomographic Community.

Is it not enough sharing your life and pictures with other people that share with you their lives and pictures? If not, I would say meeting some extraordinary people along the way. Though I am quite apart from workshops because of my work, I’ve had several Lomo meetings I will always love. Of course, being published several times, exhibitions all around the world and doubles projects with people I wouldn’t know if there wasn’t a Community like this.

Have you actually met people in the Community that you now consider as close friends? If yes, name at least one of them.

Friendship is a strong word. And the feelings I have for people like @warning, @vicuna, @satomi, @azurblue, @panelomo, @mephisto19, @jeabzz, @susielomovitz, @stouf or @lomodirk (among several more) are strong enough to consider them as friends and even more, my inspiration. I’ve had meetings with several of them (warning, panelomo, lomodirk…) and some frustrated meetings with others (mephisto19, paramir, lomodirk – too cold that day in Nuremberg). I would like to see and of course I would like to meet the rest and many more. Hope I have the opportunity to go more for a LomoWalk and talk not only about lomography and pictures but about life, projects.

Do you think you’ll still be taking Lomographs in the next five years? Why?

I don’t think, I know it. Leo (my 8 months son) loves cameras and being a model so I want to see him grow thought the lens of my analogue cameras. When he looks at my cameras and smile, I know this is forever. Today I’ve gone to pick up some printings in the lab. This is the first time in ages I take digital pictures to print. My lab rat told me. “Is this the end of your analogue passion?” I told him. “Be sure, it’s not. I have 10 more rolls to develop and a bunch of films in the fridge and even four sardina cameras and an LCA-wide I haven’t used yet”.

What is your favorite Lomo camera and why? Do you have any memorable experiences while using this camera?

The LC-A is always on my pocket. I cannot go out without her. It’s my fellow friend. The typical experience is when people try to look at the back of the camera to see the picture but in Senegal this became a true experience. If you see my popular pictures, the most liked one was taken by me and the rest of the roll was taken by the kids in the swimming pool. I think they enjoyed the experience and much as I did.

Is there any advice you can give to new analogue shooters?

Never give up! THE picture is there. You just have to push the shooter. This is not about fashion, this is about a true life experience.

They are the ones whose passion transcends not only by what they do and say, but also with what they see and capture with their film cameras. And with such attributes aforementioned, they are what we call LomoGurus! Every week, we get to ask questions and reveal some insights with the most talented and productive of all Lomographers from the Community!
