Campal is a heritage neighborhood in Panjim, the capital of Goa, where this statue is a landmark ........................in memory of Francisco Luis Gomes - a champion of liberty, writer, orator, eminent man of letter and patriot. He was the first native Parliamentarian to represent Goa, in the Cortes Gerais...the Portuguese Assembly...from 1861 to 1869....
