A very nice album - and great to see that there are some who uses/own Leidolf cameras!

@rolfmg Thanks. I have two. The old Lordomat with no lightmeter and double stroke. Unfortunately something went wrong in the double stroke functionality, and then this SLE version, the last, the best but not the best looking of the serie. It is a pleasure to use. Nice at bright viewfinder and after I ajusted the rangefinder also very precise. I love the whole story about Leidolf cameras. How he would not join the nazi party during the war, got his car confiscated, and almost went to prison. The leica factory was hit by bombs, but not Leidolf, as it was built halfway into a big cliff. But a train was hit so all the optic classes flew around and was used by the Wetzlar children for many years for playing. I am sad though that the end was not to good because I really think the cameras are so nice and the optics makes really nice images with not to much flare. but still looks classic..

@boxerclaus Thanks for sharing this interesting history. Long years back I got a Lordomat from a friend. It was not working as the forwarding lever was broken. So I also gave it away with three lenses (50, 35 and 135). However - a couple of years back I bought a Leidolf Lordox on a flea market - for 5 Euro! Not in very good condition - but I am working on it! I have not dived into the history that much - but I also liked the story that Leidolf started camera production end of the forties as a fine mechanic got cross with his superiors at the nearby Leica factory and changed to Leidolf and convinced him to start producing cameras.
