The Osebergship

Built in southwestern Norway in the year 820. 21.5m long. 5m wide. 15 pairs of oars. Weight 11 tons. Made for sailing along the coast "yachting". Two sceletons was found in the grave. One priestess (?) and possibly a female slave, 25-40 years old and some personal equipment was found in the grave. For more gravegoods look at the last pictures of this album.

    @steamtug1959 Thank you for likes and comments, and yes they are. The incredible thing is that they are the real thing, authentic, real , vikingships. There have been made copies of both the Gokstad and the Osebergship. The ships are a bit fragile. Some cracks have started to appear on one or both ships sadly. They're working on how to save them now.

    @sierravictor , this is one of the beautiful aspects in lomography, we are an international community and can see photos from all over the world !!! I like to look at photos with my lomography friends, always find good ideas and interesting things!
    As far as the boats of the wikkings are concerned, it is unbelievable where they went with it, even to North America !!! Kind regards, Ralph
