If you pour your fixer into the developing tank before your actual developer and agitate a full minute before it dawns on you what you've done, what emerges at the end is a roll of acetate that at first glance looks completely clear. I'm amazed the scanner could get anything at all.

    @charliedontsurf and i wonder what would happen with a color film, pouring in the blix first for few secs and then start with dev! :-) we're crazy you know!

    @stereograph I know we are! Lots of good stuff starts with an accident. Man Ray discovered solarisation when someone turned the lights on in his darkroom!

    @stereograph @charliedontsurf I'm not sure I'd recommend this -- the negatives were so thin that I almost put them straight in the bin because it looked as though there was nothing at all on them

    @richardhall its amazing what the scanners can see.
    i switched on white light once with a spool outside the can.
    most of the film seems blanc, but the scanner found something.
