  • Can you tell us a bit about yourself. What do you do for a living and what are your interests?
I work for Leica and am a freelance Visual Storyteller. Traveling is my first love, after which comes photography and music.
  • How long have you been a Lomographer? Or are you new to the world of Lomography?
I am pretty new to Lomography and am still trying to figure out the quirks of my Diana F+. Lomography taught me to let go of the perfectionist in me and enjoy the ‘beautiful accidents’ that happen.

  • What do you remember most regarding your first encounter with analogue photography?
I remember being so afraid that nothing would appear on the film of my Mamiya that I even loaded the camera in the dark!
  • Is there any particular Lomographic camera you would like to try shooting with?
I would love to try out the half-frame cameras. 72 frames in a single roll of film! Imagine that!
Diana Mini, Holga and Lomo LC-Wide cameras are all capable of shooting in half-frame format.
  • If you could be anywhere in the world with your camera right now, where would that be and why?
Australia, in Melbourne at the Great Ocean Road. I was at the Great Ocean Road a couple of weeks ago and am kicking myself that I did not take my Diana. I love the sound, smell and look of the ocean and the Great Ocean Road is extremely photogenic as well!
  • We love this photo (seen below). Could you describe it for us?
I was walking around Singapore when I chanced upon this old man who was completely in his own world. Perhaps he was really tired as there was a huge festival at the temple nearby the night before, or maybe he was just catching an afternoon nap.

  • What are your summer plans?
Finish up the roll of film I have in one of my cameras and to hopefully start shooting a new roll. Oh, and to update my website which was on my to-do list some 6 months ago…
  • Any advice for the future generation of analogue photographers?
Don’t be afraid of shooting film! Yes, your first few rolls might have some accidental mistakes as I did but keep shooting and you will understand why sometimes it is great to take a step back from digital and marvel at the beauty of film.
